  • Someone who has experience with Unit pricing, who can translate requirements into user stories and give it to tech team developers to develop
  • Previous experience in investment funds, how trading operations work in Agile environment, work with production type issues, experience in investment control.
  • Experience in supporting the unit pricing application called as Unison (it is inhouse) – Provide BA level support function to support and enhance the unison application.
  • This is a trading platform – data flows from one direction to other – real time algorithms or unit prices required for business to make decisions
  • Work with Business and Tech team to get the job done
  • This unison platform runs on Oracle DB, UNIX OS, Oracle Middleware, written in C++, as a front-end

The Retail and Corporate Superannuation Team are seeking quality focused, enthusiastic, Analyst Engineer to join us in supporting and delivering solutions for our Wealth Applications,
You will contribute in an AGILE environment and work within the AGILE scrum team in the analysis, testing, implementation, support and continuous improvement of our applications, with specific focus on the Unison (Unit Pricing) and Cashiering Applications

Key responsibilities of this role will include:

  • Elicitation of business requirements using the most appropriate method(s), including interviews, questionnaires, workshops, existing systems and policies and regulation
  • Analysis and specification of requirements that are uniquely traceable, verifiable and prioritized in a manner that is acceptable to both business and technology stakeholders
  • Documenting business processes, needs and issues for workable, quality, efficient and cost-effective technology solutions that meet strategic and global objectives of the business unit
  • Effective use of data and process modelling tools (including, but not limited to, process mapping, business, object and dataflow modelling) to analyses and represent information in an effective form, to translate business requirements into meaningful statements of work
  • Model current and proposed business processes, identifying stakeholders, gaps and opportunities for improvement, to ensure a smooth system implementation
  • Liaise with Business Unit Managers to offer advice and direction regarding requirements, and resolution of issues and conflicts. Liaise with technical specialists in business areas such as Risk and Operations, to offer advice and resolve issues on systems
  • Act as an interface between Business and Technology to ensure that needs are met
  • Using structured user acceptance testing processes and documentation, verify that business requirements have been met
  • Support the implementation of new systems through training and documentation and ensure that business processes are not adversely impacted by the implementation of a software system
  • Financial background essential. Prior experience in Unit Pricing and/or Funds Management systems preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of complex finance systems and related business processes.
  • Provide support to ensure availability of systems for business activities. This may involve monitoring of Applications and Systems within Production to ensure that they are functioning as expected day to day. Early morning support activities as well as Overnight/On Call Support for applications may be required as part of this role
  • Working closely with Developers to investigate business processes, procedures and user requirements to establish system requirements.
  • Working closely with other team members in a forum to share and discuss the latest technology process and to learn and understand the code used by the core application
  • Procedures to develop / modify structured code to produce quality programs using the AGILE framework
  • Contribute to the on-going evaluation and quality review of system development processes or procedures to deliver improved team productivity and efficiency
  • Support and undertake unit testing activities in relation to software solutions to ensure agreed specifications are always met. This includes contributing to maintaining operating environments to enable testing which reflects user environments
  • Conduct peer reviews / post implementation reviews to assess the effectiveness of the Technology solution provided
  • Participate in enterprise wide regular implementations
  • Ensure all work is carried out and documented in accordance with required standards, methods and procedures to support information retention and re-use. This includes contributing to the development of systems documentation such as Asset Lifecycle Plans.
  • Achieve key Systems Development Life Cycle stages in terms of quantity, timing and quality of all aspects of work allocated

Your background:

  • Financial background essential. Prior experience in Unit Pricing and/or Funds Management systems preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of complex finance systems and related business processes
  • 3 years in applicable business, project or technology environment
  • Formal training in analysis and project management, process mapping, analytical tools (e.g. case modelling)
  • Ability to think broadly and draw on wide personal experience in both the applicable business and technology environments
  • Working in Waterfall and Agile environments.
  • Demonstrated ability in analysis and problem solving

To be considered, it is expected that you will most likely have the following qualifications and experience:

  • Relevant Wealth Management / Financial Service Industry experience advantageous
  • Tertiary qualification in a relevant Business/Technology discipline or related field would be desirable but not essential
  • Superannuation and Unit Pricing experience preferred
