DESCRIPTION
Contract role to lead the workplace technology design for Frontline/Lighthouse program of works. We are looking for a Platform Architect to work with client business, external stakeholders, suppliers and vendors to deliver the architectural solutions and manage project outcomes for the client Frontline workplace solution. Expected outputs will be successful implementation and delivery of services for specific program and business requirements. This is a funded role. See below for funding sources

Capability/Skills

  • ATM/Self Service Machines including coin swap and business change machines
  • Security and Asset Protection Services (CCTV, monitoring & surveillance, analytics, biometrics, etc.)
  • Kiosk technology (laptops, devices, displays, tablets, terminals)
  • Bank Branch technology (cheque printing, card terminals, scanners, touchpads)
  • Knowledge and understanding of networks including WAN, Wi-Fi, bandwidth management, IP telephony
  • Digital Signage and including media publication, media players, displays, sound equipment
  • Print technology including scanning and follow me printing in the Branch
  • Systems monitoring and alerting

Purpose:
Senior Platform Architects are accountable for delivering architecture solutions, governance and alignment during the delivery process across Technology Programs which have multiple streams to ensure overall cohesion in meeting the Program objectives and technology strategy.

Equally, Platform Architects are accountable for delivering architecture solutions, governance and alignment during the delivery process across assigned Technology Projects to ensure alignment to the overall Project objectives and technology strategy. Platform Architects will also support the Senior Platform Architect in a multi-discipline Program of work to ensure overall solution alignment.

These roles are accountable for the following:

  • Development of options to meet the requirements of the assignment.
  • Architectural solutions in change initiatives (i.e. Projects and Programs)
  • Program / Project solution alignment to established Technology Strategy and Roadmaps
  • Identification, reporting and management of architectural risk within assignments
  • Consistency of architecture and design across the assigned assignments
  • Contribute to the advancement of strategy and roadmaps through the identification of capability gaps during the delivery process.

The scope of the role extends into integrating with our major third-party suppliers (i.e., IBM, Telstra, Oracle, British Telecom) and ensuring appropriate architectural/design alignment and governance between these suppliers and NAB.

Accountabilities:

Core Responsibilities:

  • Development of SOW for all non-significant engagements
  • Facilitate the delivery of assigned Programs / Projects through the consumption of established technology services, patterns, strategies and roadmaps
  • Technology Architecture creation for projects and other initiatives that meet the Program and Project functional & non-functional requirements
  • Validation of technology requirements to ensure they are fit for purpose and cost effective and practical.
  • Articulate platform functional and non-functional requirements to support assignment outcomes / objectives.
  • Contribute to the development of technology platform strategy and roadmaps within TPA domains through gaps identification when applying patterns and services in Program and Projects
  • Actively support and contribute during Delivery Planning activities and outputs
  • Create & assess options/proposals to offer a solution via the service catalogue or identify the need for new services.
  • Assist with management of any solution architecture issues/exemptions required and propose remediation plan
  • Manage architecture and solution dependencies within the assignment
  • Facilitate alignment, management and integration with other projects in the consumption of new or modified services.
  • Actively manage resource needs through Supply and Demand processes
  • Governance of supplier solutions and services to ensure alignment to standards, strategies and roadmaps
  • Ensure that solutions created are holistic incorporating architectural, commercial and operations requirements
  • Ensure a risk management approach is adhered to for all solutions.
  • Ensure thoroughness of planning and analysis activity in the early phases of the Program
  • Proactively manage risk; meet all policy and compliance requirements; perform controls; adhere to Process and Procedures pertinent to role; and escalate events, issues or breaches as they are identified (risk accountability forms part of all roles, as everyone is responsible for managing risk and compliance).

Relationship Management:

  • Collaboration with Service Provider Managers, Project teams, Architecture teams, Suppliers and Technology Asset Owners in development of solutions
  • Actively consult with all necessary stakeholders and provide recommendations to ensure informed decisions.
  • Develop and maintain good working relationships with Business colleagues
  • Collaborate with NAB’s key suppliers in the development of solutions
  • Collaborate / engage with the following key stakeholders as required:
  • General Managers and Heads of Technology for the various technology zones
  • Security
  • Broader Architecture & Strategy architecture community such as Business application architects (i.e., Business/Enterprise and Solution Architects).

Leadership & Communication:

  • Be an advocate for all TPA service offerings
  • Demonstrate ownership, leadership and accountability relating to solutions developed
  • Ensure supplier alignment with NAB IT Strategy, principles and policies
  • Communication of the status of the service creation process to stakeholders and consumers of the new or changed service
  • Providing early visibility of issues and risks to the appropriate stakeholders

Additional responsibilities:

  • Support the General Manager of Architecture & Strategy and the General Managers of Technology for the respective technology zones
  • Advocate Technology goals of Simplification, Always on and Speed to Value in the solutioning process
  • Identify, create, participate and support proof of concepts and experiments as required
  • Invest in research to enhance the understanding of technology, explore new horizons
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of the quality, efficiency and capability of the existing service architecture(s).
  • Ensure all personal training and compliance records are maintained and kept up to date
  • All work is to be performed in accordance with the requirements of the Health and Safety Policy, procedures and legislation

Financial accountability:

  • Manage architecture deliverables within time and budget constraints as agreed in SOWs
  • Manage recoverable time as agreed by TPA LT and defined in assignment SOW’s

Creating economically viable solutions and supporting the delivery of projects in a cost-efficient manner.

People accountability:
The Senior Platform Architect has no direct People Leader accountability; however, it does involve leading and mentoring a virtual team incorporating Platform Architects and Designers across TPA technology domains in a given assignment.

Provide technical assessment of performance of virtual team member to the Manager, Solution Architecture

The Platform Architect has no direct people leadership accountabilities, however may provide guidance to Senior Platform and Platform Designers in a given assignment.
