Supporting the cause – 70km Walk-a-thon for cystic fibrosis
One of Adaps very own Directors Paul Halstead along with staff from our Sydney and Melbourne offices participated in a 70km Walk-a-thon on 8 March 2008 in the ‘Bay Run’ of Drummoyne, Five Dock, Haberfield, Leichhardt and Rozelle in Sydney NSW. Its part of a worthy cause supporting the aid of Cystic Fibrosis NSW. The main objective is to raise funds and awareness of cystic fibrosis as well as to “go the distance” of the course!

Adaps helps out a local Battler
Savant Thakur, a young boy from Northern India came to Australia 12 year ago. He is 16 years old and lives in Sunshine, Melbourne with his sister and parents. He has Muscular Dystrophy Duchanne which affects his whole body and is the worst type of its kind. His aide Lyn Evans spoke with our Director Paul Halstead to say; “working with him each day is a joy and you often forget his disability, there is certainly nothing wrong with his brain. He is a very friendly lad and his main interests are sports and science”.
Adaps has generously donated a Toshiba laptop to help Savant with his daily tasks. Hopefully we can support Savant and even assist him to an IT role in the near future! Savant displays keen interest with computers and is seen here working away with his new laptop.

Paul Gladwell vs. the Sahara Desert – Bring it on!
On March 30th 2008, Paul Gladwell and his colleague Martin Edwards will endeavour to run 240 km across the Moroccan Sahara Dessert! During the 7 day marathon they will carry in their back packs supplies to last the duration of the run. Paul is heavily supported and sponsored by Adaps who have contributed to the expenses required for his training of the organised event. He is raising much needed funds for the Cancer Social Work team at St Vincent’s Hospital in Melbourne who support hundreds of survivors of cancer as well as families that are affected.

Adaps joins 3004!
Adaps is now a member of the support group “Club 3004”. Club 3004 aims to bring Business groups together and is proud to be a part of the business community on a familiar and friendly level. Meetings are on the first Thursday of every month located at Ormond Hall on the corner of St Kilda Rd and Moubray St. We look forward to catching up with all Club 3004 members there over the coming year.
