Support Analyst Programmer (Java/Dot net)

Our Client, a Tier 1 Bank has engaged Adaps to source Support Analyst Programmer @ Melbourne CBD

About the Role:

Our Banking client is looking for Support Analyst Programmer will have a primary support role to resolve the business unit’s production issues and requests as needed and, includes after hour support. The secondary responsibility is ongoing development activities to support the business applications. This is a challenging role in a dynamic environment and you will be expected to work on multiple activities simultaneously.

Your duties will include but not be restricted to the following:

  • Effectively and efficiently manage on-going support requests/incidents/changes on a rotating roster
  • Work as a developer based on business requirements; these development activities may be of small to medium scale
  • Work closely with business representatives to understand business requirements for any support request/enhancements
  • Ongoing management and support of environments and infrastructure by documenting required processes proactively
  • Accepting the ownership for the end to end, cost-effective delivery of all assigned development tasks and production maintenance and support services for are in alignment with agreed service levels, standards, processes and procedures
  • Identify system and process improvements
  • Identify and report all risks and issues

Your background:

  • Proven experience in application support and development, with experience in all aspects of software development and maintenance, including planning, gathering requirements, development through to implementation
  • Strong track record in application development, maintenance and support
  • Must have hands-on development experience in Java & .NET
  • Sound knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Linux Operating Platforms
  • Understanding of Software Development Models e.g. Waterfall, Agile
  • Must have in-depth understanding of Oracle and SQL Server 2008 databases, using SQL query tools and writing complex SQL queries
  • Experience in Middleware products (eg MQ Series, Connect Direct), with good understanding of XML message formats
  • Well-developed team work and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to operate independently and communicate and work effectively with business users, developers and support resources
